How to use

Blu Tack® performs best on non-porous surfaces glass, metal and plastic, as well as painted surfaces and vinyl coated wallpaper. Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from grease or losse materials. Store in a dry, cool and well ventilated location. Do not use on recently decorated surfaces or absorbent, silk-screen printed or hand stencilled wallpaper. Follow these two steps for the application:

Step 1. Pull off a piece of Blu Tack® and activate it by pulling and stretching. You need to malax it in the hands so it warms up and sticks.
Step 2. Roll into a ball or any other suitable size, place between the two surfaces and press firmly.

How was Blu Tack® created?

The story of Blu Tack® goes back a long way. The idea for Blu Tack® was born in 1969. However, the big question remains how. Well, interestingly, it was created by accident. The sticky substance was actually a by-product of an experiment by a Bostik worker to make a new sealant. Although the initial experiment was a failure, the worker's colleagues started using the resulting 'goo'; to stick messages to each other's desks. Blue colouring was added, giving it its household name.

Fast forward over 50 years and hundreds of millions of packs of Blu® Tack have been sold worldwide - making it the nation's favourite reusable adhesive. Today, Bostik's factory in Leicester continues to produce tonnes of Blu Tack® every week for the world. For decades, the unique recipe has been kept a closely guarded secret.
